Taylor Swift: 'I used to sing to strangers on the beach'

Taylor Swift has revealed that she used to sing songs from The Lion King to strangers on the beach when she was a toddler.

The 20-year-old singer made the surprise revelation in an interview with US Marie Claire.

Swift, who appears on the front cover of the July issue, said: "I have been singing randomly, obsessively, obnoxiously for as long as I can remember.

"My parents have videos of me on the beach at, like, three, going up to people and singing Lion King songs for them."

She added: "I was literally going from towel to towel, saying, 'Hi, I'm Taylor. I'm going to sing I Just Can't Wait To Be King for you now.'"

The You Belong With Me singer also admitted that she always wanted to be a performer and knew from an early age that country music and Nashville would be her natural home.

She said: "It's literally all I've ever dreamed of.

"I knew that everything I wanted to happen could happen in Nashville.

"So it became my number one goal to get there somehow."
