Scarlett Johansson has scooped a Tony award for her Broadway debut.
The Lost in Translation star won best featured performance as an actress for her portrayal of a young woman who becomes the object of her uncle's desires in a revival of Arthur Miller's A View From A Bridge.
Accepting the award at New York's Radio City Music Hall, Johansson, 25, said: "Ever since I was a little girl I wanted to be on Broadway and here I am. Being welcomed in this community has been an absolute dream come true."
Catherine Zeta-Jones took the award for best actress in a musical for her Broadway debut in A Little Night Music.
And Denzel Washington won best actor in a play for his role in a revival of Fences, by August Wilson.
In his acceptance speech he said: "My mother always says, 'Man gives the award, God gives the reward.' I guess I got both tonight."
Viola Davis won best actress for her role opposite Washington in Fences, which was also named best play revival.
Glee cast members Lea Michele and Matthew Morrison, Will Smith and wife Jada Pinkett Smith, Katie Holmes and Daniel Radcliffe, all turned out for the ceremony, which was hosted by Sean Hayes.
