Prakash Jha's next - Aarakshan - is set to roll at year end. The film will headline Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgan and Katrina Kaif and focus on the issue of reservations.
Set in Bhopal, Aarakshan is a take on the violence that followed the implementation of Mandal commission recommendations to reserve a large percentage of jobs for the backward class.
Bachchan reportedly plays a college principal, a character inspired by his father and renowned poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan.
Devgan plays his favorite student, who belongs to a backward class and supports the job-reservation. Katrina plays the Principal's daughter and is paired with Devgan.
Prakash Jha is directing the film for Feroz Nadiadwala production, to fulfill a promise he made to the producer 10 years ago.
Prakash Jha told Mid Day that he intends to complete the film in 60-70 days but hasn't finalized the schedule.
Jha earlier filmed Rajneeti in Bhopal which happens to be the home town of Amitabh Bachchan's wife Jaya Bachchan.
