Never afraid to walk the tightrope of taboos on topics like racism and religion, Sarah Silverman has ruled the comedienne roost for the best part of a decade. The girl who started out on Saturday Night Live before starring in her own ratings busting show, The Sarah Silverman Program, is loved (and loathed) for her ironic caricature of a bigoted Jewish-American princess. In 2007 she hosted the MTV Movie Awards, mocking the attending Paris Hilton about her looming jail term with a joke about bars painted to look like shlongs, and in 2008 sang the timeless “I’m Fucking Matt Damon” as a ‘gift’ for on-off boyfriend Jimmy Kimmel whilst on his own show – a performance which proved a Youtube smash and won her a Creative Arts Emmy. She’s also twice made Maxim’s Hot 100 List – proof that hilarious can also be smoking hot. Silverman has talked openly about how she struggled with bedwetting during her childhood; we’d wet our beds just at the prospect of spending the night with her.
