Pussycat Dolls frontwoman and Dancing With The Stars champ Nicole Scherzinger has joined Neil Patrick Harris’ Los Angeles staging of the Tony-winning musical Rent, Playbill.com said Friday.
The “Buttons” crooner will hit the stage alongside comedian Wayne Brady and High School Musical vet Vanessa Hudgens in the role of “Maureen” when the production opens at the Hollywood Bowl later this summer.
“Nicole had a wonderful audition – she was well prepared, sang beautifully, and had us all laughing. If only she was somewhat attractive and didn’t have two left feet… I’m very excited to have finally finished the casting process, and look forward to rolling up my sleeves and start rehearsing,” says Neil.
Rent will play just three performances at the Bowl — Friday and Saturday August 6 and 7 at 8:30PM, and Sunday August 8 at 7:30PM.
