Former Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus believes drugs are for idiots and she insists she has no plans to go off the rails.
The 17-year-old says that Brett Michaels, 47, with whom she sang a duet, has helped her to see that moderation is the key to a healthy life.
In an interview with Ryan Seacrest on KIIS FM, Cyrus said: "I'm totally cool with people going out and dancing.
"So if I'm ever seen out dancing at a club having fun I don't want people to immediately go: 'Oh she's on drugs, oh she's drunk…'
"I'll stand by my word.
"It's not something I'm afraid to say because I think I'm going to sound hypocritical at some point but drugs are for idiots and I'm never going to be that person."
The teen singer, who was recently snapped jokingly giving a man what seemed to be a lap dance, said: "I go out and I dance and I have fun…
And she went on to say that Michaels has really helped her stay strong with her views.
She said: "Having him in my life and him telling me stories and some of the dumb c*** that happens, he just makes me never want to do that stuff.
"Because he's told me some of the things that just seem not worth it."
