Leann Rimes breaks silence about marriage breakdown

Scandal-hit singer Leann Rimes has broken her silence about the breakdown of her marriage and her affair with actor Eddie Cibrian, insisting she is not a "home-wrecker".

The star told People magazine that she does not "regret the outcome" of her fling with the married TV star.

Rimes, 27, has been silent since being caught kissing Cibrian by US Weekly magazine last year.

At the time, she and her TV co-star were both married - she to dancer Dean Sheremet and he to the mother of his two children, Brandi Glanville.

After initially denying the affair, each left their spouses to be together.

They are now in a relationship, with Rimes regularly gushing about their romance on Twitter.

A year after their secret was exposed, Rimes admitted she does regret the way events unfolded and stressed she's happy to have hunky Cibrian by her side.

"I take responsibility for everything I've done. I hate that people got hurt. But I don't regret the outcome," she told the magazine.

Rimes confessed that their friendship turned into an affair a few months after filming made-for-TV-movie Northern Lights.

"It was very emotionally driven. I never once thought what I was doing was OK."

But the blonde was adamant that neither she nor Cibrian was in a happy marriage at the time.
