Heidi Montag's dad Bill says his daughter did not tell him about her split from husband Spencer Pratt.
Montag, 23, recently filed marriage separation forms in Santa Monica, LA, but her father admitted he hasn't spoken to her.
Asked if he had been in contact, he told RadarOnline.com: "No, I haven't. I have not been in touch with her vocally about any of this, so I don't know what's really going on."
Montag reportedly filed for a separation on the grounds of 'irreconcilable differences'.
The separation will mean that anything she earns from now on will be hers alone.
A source claims the star often complained about how much of her money Pratt spent.
