Breaking Dawn from The Twilight Saga will be split into two films

Hollywood's worst-kept secret has finally gone public – The Twilight Saga's Breaking Dawn will be split into two films.

Summit Entertainment announced on Friday that Breaking Dawn will be split into two separate films, with the first part slated for a November 18, 2011, release.

Twilight screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg is currently hard at work converting the 756-page conclusion of Stephenie Meyer's four-novel vampire thriller into two screenplays, Summit has revealed.

Both parts will be directed by Bill Condon.

Before that, the third installment of the saga, Eclipse, will hit cinemas on June 30.
